Mother's Day

On days like today I miss my mother, but I also rejoice that my life was blessed by her. God used her, in large part, to shape me into who I am today. Her love for others, love for me, love for family, and love for the Kingdom were all impactful in my life. She wasn’t perfect, none of us are, but she had a servant’s heart and that drove most, if not all, actions in her life.

Days like today can be hard as I can’t visit, hug, or call her. There is no note to be sent, no card to be written, no gift to be given. And yet, her love still encompasses me, surrounds me, and blesses my life daily. A glimpse of her picture, a memory of her laughter, a thought of her embrace places a smile on my face, and perhaps a tear in my eye.

I realize not all have had Godly Mothers like the woman of Proverbs 31, but I’m guessing if you are reading this, someone in your life has spoken wisdom to you and given you faithful instruction that continues to impact your life today. My encouragement to you on a day like today, if you can, is to call and/or visit and embrace that special someone. Let them know how much they are loved and appreciated. How thankful you are for the blessing they have been in your life. It’s what I would do if I could…but don’t feel sorrow for me. It is because of Him that the day is coming when I’ll get to again. #GloryToGod
